The YMCA Lighthouse Project at the Homewood-Brushton YMCA is a free creative arts and mentorship program for teens and young adults, serving ages 14-24. Through clubs, workshops, events and apprenticeships, participants explore music, media, visual arts and performance with mentors, and the program includes free dinner and transportation for eligible students. Weekly clubs run 4:30pm-7:30pm: Audio Arts on Mondays (poetry, public speaking, songwriting and beat creation), Visual Arts on Wednesdays (sketching, digital illustration, character design and animation) and Anime Club on Thursdays (anime, manga, fan art and short fan fiction). Monthly family events add a 1st-Friday Movie Night and a 3rd-Friday Community Night with guest speakers, art-making stations and life-skills workshops.
