Very clean and staff is friendly. The pool is always nice and warm. Parking lot is a bit small for all of its members, so you might have to circle around a couple of times to get a spot. Try going outside of peak times if you don't want to wait for a spot.

Unfortunately, I have to give this location 1 star due to my experience with one employee. I know, it sounds dramatic but once you finish reading, you’ll understand why. I’ve been a member at the Y for a little over 2 years now. I moved to West Roxbury this past September and initially looking to join this location but was not willing to give up access to my initial home gym because they have better parking and it’s incredibly spacious. So I kept attending the parkway Y since it’s a 5 min walk from my house but would travel to my home gym on weekends. Anyway, my first time entering parkway Y, I’m greeted by this blond haired lady named Colleen Ortiz. I explain to her that I’m from a different gym and that I want to feel out this gym and see if my interest will change to make the switch. She immediately says no. I’ve gone to many YMCAs that weren’t my home gym and was accepted, as long as I didn’t use any of their featured programs. Never been denied access into any Y. I say ok, walk out, search the membership directors name. Walk in the next day, Steve the membership director is there. Colleen is there as well ( I find out Colleen’s role is event manager, has no business addressing me about my access) , but as soon as she sees me, she skedaddles. I tell Steve my experience with her and he tells me she was absolutely wrong. He lets me enter the gym, I use the equipment, I’m happy, I leave. You would think it ends there, right? Nope, Colleen chooses to persistently harass and attempts to intimidate me. Will I be coming back? No. Will I be making the switch, absolutely not. Hopefully no one else has to experience this with Colleen. Hopefully parkway Y can find a more enthusiastic event manager in the future.

Steam room is down every month for a days, sometimes a week. Recently they ensured me they had an steam generator overhaul, but it's down again. However membership goes up. That's a travesty!

This is a good place to get some exercise and also to socialize occasionally. The building and amenities are good. There are several gyms with different equipment and small basketball courts. They offer a variety of classes, but they fill up too quickly, so it's hard and often impossible to find a spot :-/ The pool is clean and at the right temperature. It gets busy sometimes, even on weekday work hours, and even more on weekends.  I enjoy the steam room and sauna after swimming, and the showers and locker rooms are also good (I wear flip flops since the floor is not always clean). The staff is professional and friendly, the atmosphere is pleasant and people are nice. It's neither fancy nor perfect, but for the very reasonable prices- it offers very good value. You can also use the card to enter other YMCA locations in the area, which is great. Very good overall !

This is the BEST YMCA in the Boston area!! It’s much newer than other Y’s and has very spacious workout areas and locker rooms, as well as a large pool! Highly recommend this Y to anyone in the area
