I signed up for the 2 1/2 hour kayaking trip and had a blast. It was so pretty on the river. Our guide was informative. The fellow kayakers were friendly and it was an exciting and fun experience. The kayaks are inflatable and there were times I felt like I was on a bumper car because I was just banging into the banks but they’re very forgiving so it wasn’t a problem. I just took several rapids backwards. The one thing that I wasn’t exactly prepared for was that there were times when the wind kicked up and that required some strong paddling. All in all a great experience i would go again.

I had a great time as a beginner on the river. The guides Maverick and Ben were really good and helped me and my family through every section of rapids when needed. They gave excellent directions on how to navigate each section of rapids and one would go ahead to be in a position to help you out at whatever the most difficult section of that particular rapid might be. They provided history and information about the area and pointed out turtle nests, bird nests, and other slightly hidden wildlife along the way. I loved that you could travel along leisurely, and I never felt like our guides were ever trying to hurry us to the end. They really seemed to care about whether you truly enjoyed yourself or not.

On our first day in town, we drove down N. Main Street to check out Old Town Cottonwood when we saw the colorful display of kayaks lined up at OAC Tours. I love kayaking, so my hubby and I signed up for the Kayak Tour on the Rio Verde the very next day. No one else signed up for our time slot, so we had a private tour. The weather was perfect in the low 90s, the river was refreshing and the scenery was incredible. I had never kayaked on Class I or Class II rapids before, so I was a little nervous, but our guide Ken was a rockstar. Ken is very personable and knowledgeable. He helped make the experience very special. I highly recommend OAC Tours. If you are lucky enough to get Ken as your guide, please tell him I said hello.

I'd give this more stars if I could. Scenery was amazing and it was the perfect mix of chill and float vs quick little shoots down "rapids". The river itself is maybe .. maybe 4' deep at its deepest and the rapids are far from intimidating - easily a perfect experience for someone who has never even been in a kayak. Our guide was pretty laid back and let the group set the pace. He had a ton of knowledge about local history, the wildlife and fauna. They also give you pictures of you and your group doing down various points on the river that you can access and download free. 10 out of 10 - highly recommend!

Had such an amazing time on this tour! The river was beautiful and peaceful, and the small rapid sections were super fun to go down! Both of our guides were awesome, knowledgeable, and made the overall experience so enjoyable. They also took lots of pictures for us! It was the perfect way to spend my last full day in Sedona before heading back home. Highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a fun activity :)
