Oceanside Yacht Club's junior sailing program runs summer camps for ages 8-17 inside Oceanside Harbor, from complete beginners through experienced racers, with boats provided and certified instructors teaching on the water and in the classroom. Most weekday classes use a two-week, three-hour-per-day format across five summer sessions; beginners sail solo in the RS Tera, while intermediate students move to doublehanded CFJs and RS Fevas or the club's 23-foot keelboat, and one one-week session offers an all-day 9am-3pm beginner class. The program is open to the public, though an annual OYC junior membership is required, and each class includes a snack break. The Oceanside Yacht Club Youth Foundation offers scholarships for families facing financial challenges.

I was almost instantly engaged by the members to chat and recognize my as part of the "tribe". I was there at sunset and many came out on the deck to look for the "green flash", and omg, we actually saw it! It only the 2nd time in my life I've seen it.what a memorable experience all round. The yacht club has a good chef as well, with good prices on food and drink. I like to visit the beach here as well. That plus dinner and a walk around after, is a great way to spend the day.
