Family-oriented sailing and boating club at Point Breeze, founded in 1938, running a long-standing youth sailing camp in a day camp setting on Oak Orchard Creek. Campers learn to rig a sailboat and tie sailing knots, solo a small boat, steer and trim sails while reading wind direction and speed, follow rules of the road on the water, and pick up basic racing skills and tactics. Instruction uses Optimist dinghies — most campers are sailing on their own within the first hour — and Club/Collegiate 420s crewed by two. Campers must be 8 years old by the first day of camp and able to swim 50 yards without a life jacket.
