If I could give this place a million stars, I would! We had a wonderful experience with New York Art Studio. The teachers, Claudia, Ian, and Jean, are phenomenal artists and truly gifted teachers. They helped my son develop his portfolio and grow so much as an artist, and he was accepted into both LaGuardia High School and Art & Design. He received one-on-one instruction, thoughtful feedback, and so much positive encouragement throughout what can be a very stressful process. The teachers are incredibly supportive and really know how to bring out the best in their students. We are so grateful for everything they did for him and highly recommend New York Art Studio to any student applying to art high schools, college or looking to seriously develop their art skills.

Highly recommended! Our daughter spent 6 months at another art studio with poor results. New York Art Studio was far more hands on and constructive, getting the best output from our daughter, which we knew was in her. In 4 months there she finished 3 of the 4 required portfolio pieces plus the reworked 4th piece and an additional supplemental piece. She got an offer from LaGuardia (with a perfect 100 score) and accepted, with another offer from Frank Sinatra. In addition to that she got 100 scores from Brooklyn Arts and Edward Murrow. It was all thanks to the very supportive group at New York Art Studio and we are extremely thankful.

I attended the summer portfolio prep course and some extra courses in the fall at the school and learned so many skills in both technical and conceptual ability. The teachers were very knowledgeable and attentive. The pieces I made here helped me get accepted to Parsons with a scholarship which I wouldn’t have been able to do without them. Overall a really good space with diverse resources in a lot of different art disciplines and amazing staff and teachers.
