American Legion summer leadership and civics program for Nevada high school juniors, held one week each June at the University of Nevada, Reno. I attended Boys State over 10 years ago and still commonly reference the lessons I was taught and heavily utilize the leadership skills I was able to learn. It is amazing that the colleagues I had while attending are still in my circle and the counselors I had are still role models to me. If you can send your son to only one camp, you would be ridiculous to not choose Nevada Boys State. It’s a camp where young men get to learn about reality and gain an understanding of applicable skills in leadership as well as the fundamentals of the world around us. They will get to brush shoulders with current leaders of our communities and future leaders of our cities, states and country. All in all, it is motivating, educational and a whole lot of fun. I will never forget my time at Nevada Boys’ State.
