Powered by GoogleIt was actually open much later than posted online!? Nice and open, plenty of shade. Good price
I've been using this YMCA for almost 2 months with no issues with a membership through the DOD/DOW. Upon arrival today as always I scanned my card and was told my membership is not active. I was advised by a woman I assume to be the manager (she didn't identify herself) that my membership is inactive. I told her I am a member of the veterans memorial YMCA and have been coming in with no issues prior. She told a staff member it's because nobody was stopping me? I understand that YMCA's can charge their own fees for memberships but to be using this facility for months with no one stopping me or questioning me is very troublesome. If you have children that come to this facility I would definitely make sure and voice your concerns to upper management that they apparently let anyone walk in and scan a barcode without verification. Luckily, I was just a guy using the gym. I would have probably paid for the membership because I enjoy the weight room and the basketball access but after being treated so poorly because of their own failed training and policies, I'll have to find a new place to get my workouts in.
It was my first time visiting this location. They radioed a preschool, which is located near the men’s locker room to notify them that I would be walking down the corridor. The men’s bathroom was held open, and I closed the door when I entered. The door was re-latched opened. It’s possible for people walking by to see into the restroom. The preschool is visible from the open door mens bathroom. It’s very strange. I did not feel comfortable here as an adult man. I would not revisit or purchase a membership here.
Today was my first time going to this center and I live in the community. Honestly, front desk just wasn't that great. One was a young guy it seemed and very non character and the older lady with him looked at our group as if we were suspects when trying to get into the gym. Had a very strange and unwelcoming feeling. I don't think I'll be getting my kids memberships here now because if the front desk seemed like that, who knows how they act behind the scenes
Great place to get your kids and yourself into sports. They also have a work out gym, a variety of classes, and pools.
