Karen and the entire team of counselors go above and beyond to make every camper feel welcomed and valued. Each week is filled with themed activities, water days complete with slides and games, and most weeks include a fantastic field trip. Our daughter’s favorite week is Cooking Week! We highly recommend this camp—our kids are already counting down the days until next summer!
Monroe summer day camp has exceeded all of my expectations. My son looks forward to going there every day. The staff are fantastic and make the day incredibly fun and memorable. My son also has severe food allergies and the staff have been phenomenal about keeping him safe while also being creative and keep him included. I couldn’t have asked for a better summer for my kiddo (in pre-k). Highly recommend!
My kids just love Monroe Summer Day Camp! Karen and the counselors have been great! This is the first year my two kids have attended. My older daughter attended a different camp for three years. On her first day at this camp, she was the most excited I have ever seen her! She said this camp was the best camp she had been to. I made the change as this camp was close by and I wanted my kids to make friends around here. Both kids are excited to go to camp each week to see their peers, attend field trips, and do the themed activities planned for them. I highly recommend Monroe Summer Day Camp!!
My son went to Monroe Summer Day Camp last year and absolutely loved it. This year we signed up both our 6 year old and 4 year old. The counselors are fun and energetic and my son knows them all by name. They have different themes each week - both my sons favorite is cooking week. They come home with corn bread or a dessert they made during the day. They love the feeling of independence and feeling like a "big kid" cooking in the kitchen. They have water days with big water slides, splash stations, and a bounce house. They tie dye shirts and always come home with stories from the day. Monroe Summer Day camp even has field trips - Quassy, Beardsley Zoo, they even made pizza at a local pizza restaurant. Over the past ~2 years, my wife and I have gotten to know the director and we fully trust her and her staff to keep our kids safe during camp and at pickup/drop off. When my daughter is old enough we won't hesitate to sign her up as well. Can't say enough good things about this camp and the staff. Would absolutely recommend Monroe Summer Day camp to any parents looking for a FUN, safe and supportive environment to help their child grow during the summer!
We feel so grateful to be sending our children to Monroe Summer Day camp. After attending several camps prior, the warm, child-led experience at Monroe Summer Day Camp has been a breath of fresh air. Our children cannot wait to get to camp every morning and come home talking about all the messy play they have done, including a whole tinker space dedicated to making potions and using their creativity. My son’s preschool group is led so thoughtfully with a circle time and centers time each morning to start their day. They also have a dedicated art teacher and gym teacher that works with the groups every day, which I like because it adds a little structure to the day, which I did not find at a lot of other camps. The bonus for the kids has been the weekly water days with the huge water slide! Most importantly, the way our kids are greeted every morning by their counselors, as well as the directors, who are a mom and daughter team who have branched out and started their own camp because they wanted to have more control over a child-led approach, is so warm and excited. I have found all of the staff to be very approachable and all my (many :) questions are always answered quickly. As you can tell, we really love Monroe Summer Day Camp and wish we had found it sooner!
