Powered by GoogleWatched my Grandson here today. NO PARKING, spectators can’t see the whole court, and the fire alarm went off during the game. The building was never evacuated. A parent was able to reset it after blaring for 10 minutes!
Dropped by MOKAN basketball to see my grandson tryout for this summer’s club ball season. Loved the upstairs track made for spectators and the elevator for geezers like me. Conveniently located.
My son played for MOKAN for 2 summers and tried out again this summer. After tryouts in March, I didn't receive any communication from MOKAN as to whether or not he made the team. When I tried to call, it went straight to voicemail and the mailbox was full. I also emailed and received no response. It is not a well run organization and communication is clearly not a strength of theirs.
Great facility with cool modern design features! The only thing I didn't like was the tournament experience with my son. There were three games going at one time. He was very distracted by all the whistles, trying not to run into the other teams and a lot of kids were not clear on where out of bounds was. As a parent it was overwhelming to watch so many kids on the floor, follow calls and not be distracted by the other games. I liked that the parents were on the upper level and only coaches and teams were allowed on the court level. This may not be up to the facility, but I wish the tournament games were half court, not 1/3 court. I know it would make a longer day, but it'd be a better experience for the players and parents.
Amazing program. The coaches go above and beyond for the players. My son has grown so much not just in skill but in sportsmanship as well. It is definitely worth the money, just make sure you know what you are signing up for (i.e. camp vs season) to play a season you have to first try out and you are not charged season rates unless you make the team...just an FYI for any potentially inaccurate reviews 😉
