One of my favorite resources in the Middle West for community and public classes. The natural landscape, green space around, and the trail system Is spectacular for a city of KC's size

What a gem nestled in this lovely Roanoke neighborhood! Ceramics studio, dance studio and a whole gymnasium with a basketball court and a stage!

This is close to where I work so I went inside one hot summer day during my lunch break to ask if I could eat lunch inside. The man at the desk said "yes and no" and that no one has ever asked him that question in all his six or seven years working there. He explained that there was some sort of event going on at the time, and at one point suggested that I come back another time. He said he guessed I could eat lunch there, but I looked around for somewhere to sit and eat and didn't really see anywhere, and he didn't offer anything. Seemed like there was nowhere to sit and nothing to do for free. I asked if all the gym stuff required a fee, and he said yes but didn't really offer any information about the sign up process or what the facilities look like or anything. That was fine, since I didn't really want to buy anything at the moment, but it would've been nice to get a little more information. Maybe it was because of the event going on that he couldn't show me around or anything. But overall, it doesn't seem like much of a "community" center to me. I'm giving it two stars because the park itself and the parking lot and general area is nice, and it's a convenient location for me.

My husband found this community center while looking around for summer camp for our 6yr old. Now he's 13 so this will be his last year. Everyone there is friendly, helpful and awesome with the kids. They take the kids to a lot of field trips: indoor and outdoor swimming pools, worlds of fun the Royals stadium, the Chiefs stadium. This facility also provides lunch daily to the kids so no packing lunches. We are going to miss coming here. Check them out!

This community center is such a boon to the neighborhood! Great facility next to a beautiful park. Always clean, with helpful and friendly staff. They have a small gym, a computer lab, an indoor basketball court, and meeting space. It's not a huge community center but it's perfect for Volker. This is also where I vote and it's always so easy and convenient.
