Verbally calling them out by name, saying diminishing things vs encouraging the players and motivating them. Not allowing players on the team to equal amounts of playing time. Certain kids played the majority of the time, so how do the kids on the bench get any better? He literally stopped coaching the last 1:30 of the game when they were down by 4. He was telling them to hurry up, move the ball, stressing the kids out causing them to make costly turnovers each time down the court, instead of slowing down and playing smart and getting the baskets. They did the same thing each time down the court, instead of having a book of plays even if it's only 5. My dad was a coach for 35 years, and I played through my childhood and high school. The antics I saw last night did not prove to be a good learning environment for young kids wanting to improve and enjoy the game of basketball.
