Miranda is a staffed backcountry camp on Philmont Scout Ranch, the Boy Scouts of America high-adventure base near Cimarron, New Mexico. Reached on multi-day backpacking treks, Miranda's program recreates fur-trade and mountain-man life, with black-powder rifle shooting, tomahawk throwing, and period skills. It is open to registered Scouts and Venturers who are 14, or who have completed 8th grade and are at least 13. This is an overnight wilderness trek, not a day camp.

★★★★★Joey PaugaMy boys got to throw tomahawks here and they enjoyed it. We also got a nice rest from the uphill climb. Although it rained that afternoon, we were able to sit inside some of the tepees and hangout. There is running water here and they also provided washboards and small tubs (basins) to wash your clothes in. This is also where we returned our burros that we got from Ponil. There is a great view of Baldy Mountain at the base of Miranda.
