MindBloom Preschool runs STEAM-based language-immersion summer camps in Spanish or Mandarin at its Northeast DC campus, blending language learning with cultural activities and hands-on projects. Camps serve children ages 3 to 11 in age bands (3-5, 5-7, 7-11); full potty-training is required. The program is part of The Socratic School of Language, which also operates in Mount Rainier, MD.

Powered by GoogleMy daughter attended Mindbloom Preschool, and I can say without hesitation that it laid the foundation for everything she has accomplished academically since then. Today she is fluent in two languages and has maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout elementary and middle school. I give the credit for that strong academic start to the foundation that was built during her time at Mindbloom. Mindbloom doesn’t just provide childcare; they build a genuine educational foundation that prepares children to succeed for years to come. As a parent, seeing how those early lessons continue to pay off academically and personally has been incredible.
My 5-year-old daughter has been going to this school for almost 3 years now, and my family could not be happier. She can speak - and read - 5 different languages, and her current math level is well above average. While academics are essential, soft skills to navigate the current world are also taught to children. I always get complimented not only on how polite and well-mannered my daughter is, but also on how her intellectual abilities surpass her age. Additionally, I love that Ms. Susan and the teaching staff keep an open line of communication, allowing us to be active participants in my daughter's education. We can always reach out to them for any questions, concerns, and even guidance on how to enhance the little ones' learning at home. My experience with the school has always been positive, and I can never recommend this school enough - We will enroll our 2-year-old next year.
We enrolled our son in the spring break camp at the Socratic School of Language (MindBloom sister school). Ms. Susan was excellent in speaking with us about the camp and answering all of our questions. We could not have been happier with the Spanish immersion camp. Our son came home every day with items showing his continued learning and progress. He consistently asked when he could go back. We will be recommending this to our friends who have children looking for different camp options especially since they have language immersion.
Our child has been a student for the past three years and it has been an amazing experience for her. In that time, she has grown academically and socially and in her emotional intelligence. The school has fostered a love of learning and exploring new opportunities. She has developed in her target language (Chinese) and the other two languages (Arabic and Spanish). We are so happy that our child is cared for, challenged, and receiving the critical skills needed to thrive. The teachers are nothing less than impressive and skilled.
Mandarin, Spanish and Arabic 90%+ immersion, mixed age, full day preschool programs. Classrooms are very spacious, ratios very small (currently 4:1 in my son's Mandarin class). The Mandarin teachers are excellent, several students are native speakers as well. For small child to truly learn chinese, this is the next best thing to being homeschooled in a chinese family. I researched MANY mandarin immersion preschools before picking this one, the only negative is no meals provided. Also, aftercare is usually in Mandarin, bur sometimes Arabic, or Spanish.
