Marina Park Sailing & Boating Center is a City of Newport Beach waterfront facility where Orange Coast College's School of Sailing & Seamanship runs youth summer sailing and paddling camps. Week-long Monday-Friday camps run from June into August for ages 6 to 17: campers can take a pure learn-to-sail week in 8- to 14-foot boats, or a combined sailing-and-kayaking week, with 6-8 year olds sailing as a group in a 16-foot RS Venture alongside an instructor. Campers must be able to swim 50 yards and take a swim test on the first day. Registration runs through the OCC sailing school, which offers an early-bird discount.

On this quick 10 day visit to our grandchildren in California, the friendly helpful staff here honored my five year ago expired certification with them and allowed me to rent sailboats by the hour without an annual membership fee. Only $16 an hour for the dingy. Delightful!

I’ve been renting J/22s here for a few years. The staff this past weekend was chill while the boats/facilities were in amazing shape. I was happy to see new sails and was careful to roll them up neatly. I’ve sailed all over the world and this facility is above par. Nice work NB!

Nice place to tie off, right in the middle of two different places you can fuel up. There's a roped off spot for swimming, a couple access points to load off small watercrafts like kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, etc. A loading dock you can back up to to offload your boat. Close parking close up if you can find it.

The sailing and boating center provides one of the best parts of my week. I am a pass member, so I show up and tell them what type of boat or board I want for my session, and they set that up for me. The service is an excellent alternative to the rigors of owning a boat and hauling it to the water.

We rented a slip for the night, and it was wonderful! Clean (restrooms/showers that you need a key card to access), great customer service, and close to NB's pier, bars and restaurants. There is also a restaurant onsite. Highly recommend this as an option if you're sailing through the Newport Beach area and prefer a dock over moorings.
