They will always be a second family to me. The studio is full of talent and creates such a supportive, uplifting, and professional environment — both on and off the floor. Maria Benson Centre for Dance has been a perfect fit for my daughter because the main focus is not necessarily on winning and instead is on life-dance balance, improving your technique and skill, being a positive role model, being a supportive teammate and member of the dance family, and just having fun on stage. Perhaps some will say that this studio doesn’t have the professional choreographers and the long hours that other studios have, but that doesn’t make them any less professional than those that do. My daughter continues to learn and has gained so much more than dance skills here. She has learned to mentor other dancers, to support her teammates no matter the relationship outside of the studio, and to go out there every time, every routine, and dinner best and have fun with it. The judges see this at nearly every competition and award her for it with awards for her fun faces, high energy, and enthusiasm, and they award the studio with awards for best sportsmanship, most supportive team, and best studio. If you put emphasis on winning and long hours everyday after school to attain perfection, this studio is not for you. However, if you’re looking for a studio that feels like family, stresses good character and improvement over winning and perfection, and puts the studio’s best interests before the demands of any one particular dancer and her family, then Maria Benson Centre for Dance is THE PERFECT CHOICE!!!
