Los Al Robotics (FRC Team 6220) at Los Alamitos High School runs two summer robotics camps in partnership with the Los Alamitos Education Foundation, taught by the team's students and mentors. The FRC Robotics Camp is a three-week half-day program, July 6-24, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for incoming 8th-12th graders at $450, covering robot fabrication plus a specialty in computer-aided manufacturing, programming or design. The LEGO Robotics Camp runs three separate one-week half-day sessions, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at $250 per week, for grades 3-5 and grades 5-7, with small groups building LEGO Mindstorms robots. No experience is required for either camp, and FRC campers get a pathway onto the school team.
