Powered by GoogleMy son attended the in person camp and loved it. He came home excited to go back again and learn more about coding in Roblox and was able to continue working on his projects at home. We will be signing up again this summer.
My kids took the one week Robotics coding class working with Lego Mindstorms. They really enjoyed the class and coding the robots. I thought the "battle" coding was a bit basic; personally I like having the robots perform "robot" tasks as if they were in a factory or on another planet. (That means following a path, moving objects, recognizing things and reacting etc.) It was a good week and they seemed to learn a lot and enjoyed their instructors. Now I have to decide when I might invest in the robotics kit for home...!
My 2nd grade daughter has been coming to the MathCraft class at CodeRev for the last 6 months or so. She LOVES it and looks forward to going every week. She tells me she loves getting ahead and learning concepts she's not yet touched on at school. Mostly, I think she's having fun while she's learning. And Captain, her instructor is fantastic! They are flexible with scheduling and a pleasure to work with.
Both my girls enjoyed their camp at the Del Mar Torrey Pines High School. Each student was provided a station and help was always available. The staff left a great impression on my kids because they learned a new skill everyday. The crew was knowledgeable, professional, and fun. My daughters were able to creatively showcase their work at the end. Each child was proud to see what they have accomplished . Thank you for inspiring our kids.
I can't say enough good things about CodeREV and their awesome staff. My daughter and many of her friends always look forward to their twice weekly classes there. We especially love the owner, Evan, and Jim Pike, who teaches grades 2-8 math using Minecraft. They've been a bit busy, lately, with summer camps, but nevertheless my daughter is getting the individualized attention she needs as she learns to code. I was also happy to hear they're coming to her charter school to teach in the fall.
