Forge Makerspace is a workshop on Michigan Avenue in Santa Monica running an eleven-week engineering day camp, June 15 to August 28, for kids entering 2nd through 8th grade. Each week is one themed build campers take home - an RC car, a programmable lightsaber, a control-line airplane, an arcade cabinet, a racing drone, a mechanical clock, a robotic arm - made with soldering irons, saws, power tools and real electronics at a 6:1 camper-to-instructor ratio. The day runs 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., including a midday walk to Gandara Park for lunch and outdoor play, with aftercare until 4:15 p.m. Tuition is $750 a week, hot lunch can be ordered, and a sliding scale is offered to households up to roughly 120% of the Santa Monica median income.
