This is a great swimming school! The staff is very responsive and provides feedback as to your child's progress through the program. I have a child in stroke clinic and YA stroke clinic. They do a great job at coaching children to improve their stroke and swim their personal best.

My 7 YO son started swimming at the Garden City location of Long Island Swim school approximately 6 months ago. The program is managed by Alexis, who is a real pro. I have no idea if my son will want to be a professional swimmer or if he has what it takes to become one. But I do know that if you want your kid to join a professional program, which will give your kid the tools to be a very good swimmer if he/she wants it - Long Island Swim School in Garden City is your place. My son started swimming at 3 YO at a different school and I truly regret the fact that he didn’t start at Long Island Swim School. He would have been a much better swimmer by now, that’s for sure. When he joined Long Island Swim School he swam freestyle only and in 6 months he swims all 4 strokes at a pretty good level for his age. Alexis runs an amazing program that is unmatched by any other program that I have seen. I drive for almost 2 hours in traffic all the way from Manhattan every Wednesday afternoon so that my son will be able to swim at this program. That should tell you everything you need to know about the program. HANDS DOWN THE BEST!

My son took lessons here over the summer. Overall, not a bad experience and he did better than I expected considering he was still a bit afraid of the water when he first started. I really liked his instructors, it was the same 2 or 3 instructors that he had throughout the 8 weeks he was there. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because there were times the groups could’ve been 2:1 or even 1:1 because there were available lanes and swim instructors but they weren’t utilized despite availability. I know I paid for 4:1 lessons and most of them turned out to be only 3:1 and sometimes even 2:1 so I shouldn’t be complaining, but they could’ve utilized the other lanes and instructors to give the kids more individual attention... Other than that, my son enjoyed it and is more confident in the water now so I might still continue lessons here in the future.

My son has been with LI swim school for four years and it was been a wonderful experience. Alexis and her team are professional, organized, responsive and caring. Classes start on time and registration is easy through the online process. Other swim schools are not as efficient. The space is clean and well-cared for. The instructors are trained well. They know how to support children of different age groups so they may be confident in the pool! I recommended the school to a friend and her son, who was very apprehensive about swimming in other places learned so much. Great job LI Swim!

So happy with our first season in this school! All the instructors take their job very serious and are clearly happy to be there. Also, the administration is very organized are on top of it! Alexis is the team leader I mainly dealt with.. she is very personable and diligent! They know the kids after 1 or 2 classes and they give feedback based on their previous class every week... very encouraging! I saw a huge improvement in my children’s swimming in a short period of time. Thank you guys!
