Christian Church Disciples of Christ (PSWR)

Loch Leven is a 160-acre camp and retreat centre in the Mountain Home Village area of the lower San Bernardino mountains, and has been the home of all Pacific Southwest Region camps of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) since 1957. In summer it hosts week-long residential camp sessions for ages 3 through 18, including recent high-school graduates, on grounds of streams, meadows, gardens, hiking trails and wildlife; a winter weekend camp over Presidents' weekend serves Chi Rho (grades 6-8) and CYF (grades 9-12). Sessions are organised by the region's Camp Ministry Committee and run entirely by volunteers - former campers, pastors, parents and young adults. Rather than a scholarship application, the camp asks each registrant to choose the payment amount that fits their financial situation, so assistance requires no separate paperwork.

One of the most magical places in the California mountains! Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of life to cleanse your spirit and close enough you can run into town during your stay if you needed, though it is hard to leave once the peace of the space surrounds you.

I have spent so many weeks, from the time I was 12, at this very special campground/ retreat center. The remodel of the lodge is fantastic and the grounds are beautiful.

This is a long time family hike. There are no bathrooms or water to drink, but it's a refreshing hike. Come enjoy, and leave it cleaner than you found it

We had a great time at Loch Leven. This camp is very affordable, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice hikes around. The location is secluded by itself in a small canyon just off the 330. Fairly low elevation, so you won't have to worry about traffic or, in winter time, the snow.
