Mile High Pines · Private

CODES, the California OutDoor Education and Science School, is the outdoor science program at Mile High Pines, a nonprofit camp on Highway 38 in Angelus Oaks in the San Bernardino National Forest. Schools book 3- or 4-day residential programs for roughly 5th through 8th graders; students sleep in camp cabins and take NGSS-aligned classes in ecosystems, producers, consumers and watershed study, plus wilderness survival, a night hike, a 40-foot rock wall with low-ropes team challenges and a six-hour hike to Jenks Lake. Enrollment is through schools rather than individual families, and scholarships and discounts are offered.
