Camp Alandale is a Christian nonprofit that runs free mountain overnight camps at Angelus Oaks for abused and neglected children in grades 4-12 (ages 9-18); all campers are in foster or group homes or have attended before, and every camper is fully sponsored at no cost to the family. Five week-long summer sessions run from mid-June to mid-August and four weekend camps run from January to March. Summer activities include hiking, swimming, crafts, archery, a low ropes course, guitar lessons, cooking, non-competitive games, campfire songs, Bible study and Scripture memorisation, while winter camps add sledding and snow games. Camp buses collect campers from Brea Mall and Ontario, the camp states a 2:1 camper-to-counselor ratio in summer and 1:1 in winter, and it describes itself as non-denominational and unaffiliated with any church.

★★★★★ButtuscrackusI went to camp alandale in the summer at one point when I was around fourteen in the foster care system. Also went to the location they had in mountains when it snowed. I'm 28 now. I miss camp alandale! When I went there it was so fun and all the counselors made it a great time. I remember in the summer in the camp they had there was a pool and on the last day the owner, who had a wife and young son they put bags and bags of ice in the pool. I remember an Asian male counselor who would pinch your ears and it was so funny. Such great times I had as a kid here. I remember in the location when it was snowing they took us on a long walk or hike if you will, and they showed us a place where a man was believed to have passed away so they put him in a coffin and walked him to someplace a group of people did. On the way he was moving around but they didn't know and he passed away. The counselor made the whole hike soooo much fun.
