Kings Swim Academy (an Emler Swim School) offers year-round indoor swim lessons in San Mateo, with small class sizes and a low instructor-to-student ratio. Summer programming consists of week-long swim clinics -- five consecutive days of 30-minute lessons covering water safety and stroke technique -- rather than a full-day summer camp.

Powered by GoogleMy two kids have been attending Kings swim for a few years at different levels and we have been really happy with the teachers and that it is a dedicated pool just for swim lessons. There has been a ton of improvement in their skills and the cancellation policy is the most forgiving one I have found on the peninsula and SF. Scheduling has been a bit difficult lately but seems to be balancing out.
Teacher Nathaly is great! She has been teaching our kid for nearly a year and the progress has been amazing. All the team at the Kings Academy is caring and very patient with the kids.
Kids learning and improving swimming skills. The instructors are great and work patiently with each student. Also like the new app with updates on how students are doing and what they have mastered.
I pay for private swim lessons for my autistic 3 year old nephew. While most of the teachers that he's had have been great, he has not had a consistent one at all (which is rough for some autistic kids), and his latest surprise teacher today was not even told that my nephew was autistic! He really enjoys coming to this facility, but please do better.
We’ve had such a positive experience at King’s Swim Academy, especially with Miss Nikki. My son is on the autism spectrum, and finding the right fit for swim lessons has always been a challenge—until we found Nikki. She has a calm, patient presence and an incredible ability to connect with him on his terms. She gently encourages progress without pressure, celebrates every win (big or small), and adapts her teaching style in the moment to support his needs. The whole staff at King’s has been supportive and kind, but Nikki has truly made a difference in our journey. My son not only feels safe in the water—he loves coming to swim class. We’re so grateful for this gem of a swim school and especially for Nikki!
