I went there with some regularity, particularly to run their track above a basketball court. The wooden track curved at the corners and allowed one to keep whatever speed you had. Going forward many decades, I joined the John Geigle YMCA in Palm Harbor, Florida, about seven miles from our home. I would rate as a senior SENIOR now, wanting to keep and improve upon my physical fitness. The whole act of moving from a state far away took time and fitness away. What I found at the John Geigle YMCA turns out to be my home of fitness. From day one, the staff displayed a happy interest in anything they can do to make a visit more productive. My in-the-ceiling track of college days is replaced with a room full of modern tread mills of all types; make your choice. Then there are the fitness devices or machines, every how you want to say it, of many types that one can focus on their pipes, wheels, or any other spot on the body. There are rooms for exercise classes, a pool for all causes, and other rooms that I haven't yet explored. What I find in the (large) fitness room are friendly people of all ages working out doing what I am trying to do, which is to be fit and stay healthy. John Geigle YMCA has become my place for health.

★★★★★DaphneThis YMCA is unremarkable from the exterior. It appears to be small with an awkward parking arrangement. But, don't let appearances fool you. It is extremely well allocated with the normal offerings as well as the unique. It is capable of handling small tournaments and competitions. It has outdoor stadium seating as well as enclosed interior seating overlooking its pool. It also has tennis courts, complete with covered seating areas and tall chair umpire stations (court reservation 1 week in advance unless an "Ultimate member'). There are three surrounding parking areas. The atmosphere is diversified and the staff has always been welcoming.
