HoopsStrength Inc. is a basketball-specific strength and skills training company running since 2006 from a facility at 1225 Jefferson Road in Rochester. Its summer camp advertises comprehensive skill development, a structured daily schedule, positive coaching and flexible age-group options, with separate K-6th and 7th-12th grade events for boys and girls; sessions combine strength, speed and jump training with dribbling, shooting, attack moves, working off screens and defence. The company also runs an in-house developmental league, 1-4 player private training, group drop-ins and Dr. Dish shooting-machine rentals, and registration runs through its app and online booking system.

Powered by GoogleThe layout of this facility is a nightmare. There is no clear path to the bathrooms or exits, meaning you are constantly "in the way" of the courts just by moving. To make it worse, the staff and referees are rude, yelling at spectators who are simply trying to navigate the cramped space. The bathrooms are consistently disgusting and never stocked with toilet paper. On top of the poor conditions, they charge a $5 gate fee for parents who are required to be there with their players. Save your money and your patience. Unfortunately, I won't be enrolling in this league again so we don't have to spend our weekends in this uncomfortable environment.
Love this place...my 12 year old daughter attends strength training here for Volleyball and has seen some really good growth. The older girls are encouraging and Matt is great at teaching proper movement.
My 13 year old son picked up a basketball for the first time 12 month ago, made his middle school team and scored his first points last night. His quick progression was due to his commitment and his training with Coaches Steve, James and of course Coach Matt. The hard work and fitness mentality combined with regimented skills training is just such a great combination. It also helps to have coaches who care about the emotional development of these kids. You can demand hard work and effort while providing emotional encouragement. These folks do it right.
Our daughter is 8 and has been attending sessions at HoopsStrength for about a year and a half. It has been everything and more in terms of introducing her to the game of basketball. The coaches, atmosphere, and structure is excellent and geared toward the specific age groups being coaches. Coach Matt and his staff do an excellent job of teaching and making the game fun for kids. We are lucky to have a place like HoopsStrength in our area, and my only complain is that it wasn't around when I was a kid! Would 100% Recommend to parents looking for a place to introduce their kids to the game of Basketball.
Had the honor of having Matt Jones as my head coach. Finally my son was old enough to send him to a 3 day camp. I sat for the entire camp and watched. James and Steve where amazing. The coach to kid ratio is better than any previous camp I have sent him too. Will return after watching the coaching.
