Firstly, I am a disabled veteran living on be a disability while filing for Social Security disability and full custody to young boys, so I get the discounted Family rate at $28 a month. After Christmas and both of my sons birthdays being back-to-back I was not only broke but my accounts got hacked so I had to get a different card and missed my January payment. I went in to use the facility in February and was told I owe 57. I explained what had happened and the fact that I haven't used the facility but maybe three times in a year and was told that I could not just start my membership back up and would have to pay the 57. The lady at the desk was named Laura and was so empathetic and nice and caring and told me that it shouldn't be a big deal and to contact the manager, which I have no idea how to spell her name but was pronounced" sah-reece", and she has the power to waive the back fee into continue moving forward. Well long story short the manager refused to wait any of it and offer the payment plan which I informed her I just could not afford this time and refuse to wave at whatsoever thus refusing my ongoing payments and would rather lose my business altogether which is really sad because I did enjoy the facility but with principle alone at this point after hearing everything and then to tell me that she did have the power to me wave it if she wanted while I was on the phone that she was choosing not to do so. I do want to recognize the lady at the desk Laura however because even after everything she offered to let me use the facility just in one day.

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I went to the pool. Upon entering the pool, I noticed a used bandaid in the water. My husband went to the lifeguard to ask if he could remove the bandaid and the lifeguard nonchalantly said that he didn't have anything to get the bandaid out with. My husband then ask if they had any gloves so that he himself could remove the bandaid and the lifeguard nonchalantly told him they didn't have gloves. My husband then searched around the area to see if he could find anything to help him retrieve the bandaid. After about 10 mins of searching, my husband decided to just get his laps done and I decided to proceed to do excerises for knee strengthening ( I injured my knee a few weeks ago and water therapy was suggested by my PT) so we could get out of there. While in the pool, the lifeguard continued to sit, cover his eyes and kept his head down ( shouldn't they be watching the swimmers?) He appeared to not want to be at work and seemed to have a very nasty attitude. All of this made me uncomfortable so I decided to get out and leave. A couple days later I came back to report the these issues to someone. The staff at the front desk didn't seem to thrilled to help me. All I was told to do was stand at the little machine by the front door to fill out a complaint. Standing up at a machine to type all of this wasn't going to work for me due to me not being able to stand for long periods of time at this moment. So I ask the staff if there was another way and I was told a flat out "NO" It was very obvious that no one wanted to get involved so I finish my workout in the gym and went home. I don't feel like me issues were addressed at all. The staff were of no support and they stared at me as if I did something wrong. I've never left a review for any establishment but this occurrence was the straw that broke the camels back. The world is already lacking compassion. The least a community center can do is assure their community and customers that their concerns matter. And since I'm here, I also want to add that the women's locker room is absolutely disgusting. I come dressed in my swimsuit to ensure I can avoid having to use their locker room.

The Hobart Chamber of Commerce held a business after hours at the YMCA and play dodgeball. Our life size Mason came out to play with us and what a ball we had. They did give us tours of the facility and it is a wonderful place.
