Finding the right activity for my eight-year-old daughter has been a challenge. We've tried dance and gymnastics studios locally, but nothing clicked. Then we walked into High Standard Dance, and it felt different. Right away, we felt a sense of belonging. It was a huge concern for us that our daughter, who is deaf, might feel isolated surrounded by hearing children. But at High Standard, the staff and other dancers embraced her with open arms. They truly are like family now. The instructors are incredible. They go above and beyond to ensure my daughter doesn't miss a single beat. They are patient and understanding, allowing her to ask questions and repeat instructions without any judgment. Seeing her confidence grow has filled my heart with so much pride. High Standard Dance Studio is more than just a dance studio; it's a haven of inclusivity and support. We are forever grateful for the amazing community they've created, and we'll continue to rave about them!

There is no “high standard” here , just high schoolers teaching dance classes with no idea how to manage a class of small children. One of which told my FIVE year old to “mind her buisness” at the trial class.. one dance teacher was walking around the studio with a vape, wow so much for setting a “high standard”! I also would advice against leaving your child here for after school club since it’s on a busy road and they don’t keep the front door locked!

My daughter has attended HSDC from day one and she has just blossomed under the instruction & guidance of the studio director and staff at the studio. The environment is positive, friendly, challenging, and nurturing to both the growth of the students through dance but as they are as individual young people. As a grown up, I also have enjoyed learning new skills in their adult classes because why should the kids have all the fun lol. All in all, High Standard provides a family environment where they build up their students through sound technical instruction as well as the joy of the performing fine arts. Highly recommend 😊

I have had the pleasure of knowing the owner and the teachers/choreographers at this studio for many years. HSDC has been able to offer my daughter exciting performance opportunities such as the Volusia County Youth Festival of the Arts and the Nascar Xfininty Race. The environment is friendly and has a family like atmosphere. The studio offers an after school program and a summer camp with fun field trips. The dance training is focused on technique, but the dancers have fun too. There are classes for recreation, and there is also a competition team if that is what you are looking for. There are classes from age 2+, and they have everything from ballet to tumbling to hip hop and everything in between. Highly recommend HSDC!!!
