We recently moved back to the U.S. from Germany, where our son played club soccer. We loved the training approach and the way the game was taught there, so we were really hoping to find something similar here—and we’re so happy we found Gunston Soccer! We’ve been very impressed with how the club is run and how much care goes into everything they do. Dave has been especially welcoming and is always such a friendly face—he truly makes families feel part of the community. Our kids have participated in the soccer camps on early release days and play for the club, and they’ve absolutely loved every experience. We’re so appreciative of the time, effort, and enthusiasm that everyone at Gunston puts into creating such a positive and well-organized environment for the kids. Thank you for all that you do! ⚽️

The club failed to keep my son safe. The club allowed children to practice in a field where it is known adults go there to smoke Marijuana and be belligerent. Issues were reported to the club and all you did was made a call to police. Did you verify if issues were handled? No. Did you increase your presence to ensure the safety of the kids were met? The answer is no! My kid like many others were exposed to second hand smoke to Marijuana because the club failed to close this location and look for a safer location where kids can practice and focus on the love of the sport. Instead, there solution was to cut practice short and cheat them off their time to practice and improve upon their skills. Issues didn't disappear because practice would be cut short. The club failed to uphold their values and standards. The directors took it upon themselves to notify only the 2011 Team of the Coach Resignation without looking at all the factors in place. This is disheartening and a disappointing. This is the first club where my son has played where parents find out information through the rumor mil and are left to put the pieces together. Both of you failed to take appropriate action and handled this situation atrociously. If you handled this situation like this, im afraid to know how you will handle my son's training. The club failed to follow proper resignation and guidelines to provide closure to the kids. This has impacted the mental state, to a certain degree, of the boys. Coach sent a message to Dave in a heat of the moment because of how Dave was handling the situation with the 2011 Parent. Both of you should have been the bigger person and asked coach to reconsider for the sake of the 2010 team; especially with the tournament a few days away. Both of you have acted childishly to boost your own personal ego. Not once did you request Coach to formally resign if he was serious and ask him to speak to the 2010 team before leaving. Not once did you two address parents formally and professionally. The only reason you even sent us a message was because we were filling up your inbox. When I provided them feedback, they removed me from playmetrics immediately without speaking to me or providing me a full refund. Within minutes after emailing them through Gmail, they added my son back to the team. This just shows how childish the directors are. Don't send your kids here!!!!

some teams are very good like 2011 boys and 2010 boys but other teams are not so good

You are better off sending your player to a SYC team over Gunston club if you expect a high level of play. Not worth it if your goal is to get your player to a college level. More competitive teams with better coaching and team organization can be found for much cheaper prices. We really hoped we had found a good team fit but we will be taking our player elsewhere, she expected a similar level of play and coaching that was present at her past club, our expectations have not been met. This review is not deter you from Gunston, but instead so you may manage your expectations before making a large financial investment and being disappointed.
