GNG Recreation (Gray Recreation Department) runs an all-inclusive summer day camp for children entering grades K–6, meeting weekdays 7:30am–5:30pm for eight weeks from late June through mid-August at sites in Gray and New Gloucester. Tuition includes a t-shirt, field trips and weekly ice cream, and a Leaders in Training program is offered.

The Parks and Recreation office is right on the left after you enter the main entrance of the Municipal Complex. The Recreation Director is great and has a huge and varied amount of recreation opportunities. Some of the recreation programs are located right behind the Municipal Complex. The Newbegin Community Center Gym is located right across the parking lot from the Municipal Complex. Pennell Park is directly behind the Henry Pennell Municipal Complex.
