Gilden Woods Howell
Private
Wondercamp is the full-day summer camp run at Gilden Woods Howell, a licensed Michigan childcare and preschool center operated by AppleTree & Gilden Woods (Learning Care Group). The camp runs 15 weeks across the summer with a new theme each week — invention, water, sports, music, art, nature — alongside daily outdoor play, arts and crafts, and healthy meals and snacks; school-age campers also take local field trips. It is open to toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children up to age 12, enrolled by the week, and the center also offers full-time, part-time and drop-in care year-round.

We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Gilden Woods Howell directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleWe have nothing but good things to say about Gilden Woods and the staff there. Our three children attend, and we are so grateful for the excellent care. The facility is clean, safe, and friendly. The teachers and support staff are kind, attentive, and informative. They keep us updated with pictures and statuses on the app. There are cameras so you can see your children throughout the day as well. The admin staff and director, Stephanie, are on top of everything and always engage with parents and kids as they are coming and going. You can tell they really care. We love Ms. Lainey in the infant room. She has been a joy to work with as we leave our little one in her care. Ms Shannon is very hands on and fun working with all our kids. She has helped our toddler become comfortable with daycare. Ms Allyson in the GSRP room always greets our son and is kind in her approach to teaching and helping the kids handle their emotions.
We’ve been a Gilden Woods family for about 4 years. We have two kids attending so we’ve worked with pretty much everyone at Gilden and we’re EXTREMELY thankful to know that our children are in such great hands – getting the love and attention they deserve and are developing the social and physical skills they need. Because we’ve interacted with so many special people at Gilden, it’s impossible to name just one, so here we go: Ms. Dawn – amazingly loving and great with art projects and keepsakes we’ll treasure forever. Ms. Lainey – so good with babies, so helpful and kind. Ms. Tricia – amazing at introducing structure, songs, and teaching infants who are just blossoming into their toddler stage. Ms. Emma – kids LOVE her and she’s always there for them. Ms. Rosie – great communicator and excellent at organizing fun and stimulating development tasks for the kids. Ms. Jen B – always helpful and ready to sing and dance along with kids. Ms. Jenny S – great at keeping parents updated both through the app and in person. Ms. Aless – genuinely kind and loving person and the kids can tell! Ms. Shannon – truly loves the kids and is great to speak with at pick-up, she remembers details and relays fun stories too! Ms. Carole – so great at drop off and making kids feel welcome and excited for the day. Ms. Sofia – excellent at communicating with kids and you can tell how much she cares for them. Mr. Jack – we all love his positive energy and the kids just gravitate to him and look to him as a support person. Ms. Alyson – creates fun exciting learning projects and activities, kids are excited to be in her class. Ms. Kylee – can do it all at Gilden, always helpful, great at communicating with parents. Mr. Nolan – we really appreciate his kind calming presence. Mr. Keegan – great with kids of all ages and brings a fun energy the kids love. And of course, Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Ashlyn, and Ms. Carrie who we see at the front desk every day to greet us, share updates, and answer questions in a kind, professional manner every time! We have also interacted with Ms. Hanna, Ms. Sarah, Ms. Gracie, Ms. Lucy, and Ms. Bella either at pick-up or drop off – or even just passing through the hallways and have nothing but good things to say :) Again, we’re very lucky to have our kids attending Gilden Woods in Howell – they are such a huge part of our kids' lives.
My son started here at 6 months. He is now a little over a year old. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place. It is a huge deal leaving your child with someone and to say I have ZERO stress with the teachers he has is an understatement. He lights up when he sees Dawn, Lainey, Trisha, Emma, and Sandie! All of the listed teachers go out of their way to help him learn new things and explore the rooms confidently. They take pictures for you throughout the day and every time he looks happy and well cared for. Among so many others who help in the rooms as well. Truly cannot say enough things that are positive - I also have artwork to hang of his and activities they do that I get to show family and friends. I will share pictures from the artwork they made with him.
Hello I have been taking my foster care son here to Gildenwoods of Howell for the last year and a half. The staff is truly been great! Especially, a teacher named Dawn. She has been there with me from the beginning. Always kind and willing to help out and answer any questions if needed. Miss Dawn, for the win!
My son is 4 and has been attending Gilden Woods for about a year now and it has been AMAZING! He wakes up every morning asking if it’s time to go see Mr. Jack and Ms. Sophia! He has several disabilities, and the center has been nothing but kind and accommodating working with us and the school district to make sure all of his needs are met. He’s made some sweet friends, the app keeps us updated all day, you can look in on the camera at any time, and they truly live by the open door policy. Moving him from his previous center was the best move we’ve made for our family!
