Farmington Family YMCA runs a YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit summer day camp in Farmington Hills, one of eight metro-Detroit Y day camp sites. The summer is divided into eleven themed weeks — from Under the Sea and Wacky Water Week to Prehistoric Adventures and a camper-voted Best of Camp Week — with swimming, field games, crafts and outdoor activities; campers bring a swimsuit, towel and snacks each day. Camps serve ages 3 through 17 with counselor ratios of 6:1 for ages 3-5, 8:1 for 6-8, 10:1 for 9-11 and 12:1 for teens, and many sites are state-licensed and/or ACA-accredited. Financial assistance is available to families who qualify.

We enjoy this Y. Great kid's programs, affordable swimming lessons, beautiful pools with a very warm therapy pool for rehab and kids swimming. Enjoy the sauna in the locker room. The fitness room has all the necessary equipment and I get good use of it. Very nice people.

Lisa & Stephana both teach excellent water exercise classes! I have been taking the classes for 4+ years & hate when I have to miss! The pool & locker room are so clean - always! The sauna is my treat after a good workout! My thanks to each of the lifeguards, to Lisa & Stephana, and to Natasha, who keeps everything so clean! It would be nice to add more water aerobic classes.

I really enjoy excercise classes. I’ve only tried a few here, but I’ve been disappointed they don’t seem very challenging. I was particularly dispoaointed on the Zumba Friday morning. The I stricter keeps stopping and talking about random things. The dancing itself is very respetitive moves. It’s not what I’m used to from the Royal oak campus.

The aquatics schedule isn’t reflected accurately in the app. The updated schedule is a printout that has to be retrieved from the front desk. For those that work during the day, swimming after work is very limited because the swim team takes up the lanes from 6-8 on most days. The pool availability on the weekend is also very limited. When it’s open on Saturday, it closes at 12.

I was in town for work and stopped in using my nationwide membership. They were very friendly and welcoming. I was set up so I could scan myself in, in the morning. The weight room was great and very nice locker rooms.
