A great dance studio with a true family feel. My daughters have grown up in this studio and its been beautiful to watch the bonds they have made with their teachers, staff and peers. With my oldest assisting gym classes and my middle daughter on the competition team, its safe to say Fancy Feet is like a second home!

We have had the privilege of being a part of the Fancy Feet family for 4 years now! I have had nothing but positive experiences with Fancy Feet. Every teacher has made my children feel comfortable, confident, and helped them grow as a person and as dancers. My son joined with Jazz and hip hop and performed for 3 years. Even when he was the only boy in class, he never felt uncomfortable and had a wonderful time. My daughter started with Creative Movement when she was three and she was thrilled to make the company team this year! As a new company parent I was excited but apprehensive about the new responsibilities involved, but from the beginning, both Ms. Susan and Ms. Denica held parent meetings and were very open and thorough about the classes, schedule, and financial contributions required. I am grateful that we were not immediately thrown into competing without any experience and having never been to a competition before. We would have been completely overwhelmed! The company policies are clear and easy to follow, and unlike most studios, parents do not have to pay competition fees, but rather are expected to participate in fundraising. Personally I appreciate it because those fees are not cheap, and I love that we all work together as a community to contribute because we are a team and everyone is in it together. Thanks, Ms. Susan and the Fancy Feet family for an amazing experience, and here’s to many more years together!

We appreciate the opportunities our child had at this studio; however, bullying concerns were raised but not addressed. The CEO did not intervene and remained silent, and the parent of the student involved was not contacted until I addressed the issue myself. This dance studio struggles with communicating what respecting one another or accountability looks like as the unkind child still attends the dance school. It’s not a coincidence that a few reviews on here mention the bullying issue and it going unaddressed. This led our family to move to Performers Edge Dance Academy, a studio with clearer expectations for respect, accountability, and an age-appropriate classroom structure. Additionally, when families first join the company, new dancers are not allowed to perform during their first year. Parents are told this is because they are new and should observe the more experienced dancers, with the expectation that they will perform in their second year. However, families are still required to attend competitions and pay the associated fees for competitions even though their child does not perform. After doing some research, I learned that spectators are generally not required to pay these types of fees to simply watch competitions. As a result, the policy felt confusing, especially since families are contributing financially to a competition team their child is part of but does not participate in competition dances during their first year. **EDIT: REPLY TO RESPONSE ** First, the parent was not immediately aware of the situation. When I spoke directly with her, along with my daughter’s father, she denied that her child could have engaged in that behavior and stated she was not aware of any incident in which her child was bullying other students. This conversation took place on April 13, 2025 at 10:00 am, and based on that interaction, it was clear she had not been informed prior to our conversation. So no, your message was not overlooked the parent did not know until that Sunday. It seems more likely she was contacted after the fact, because when I informed you that I had already spoken to her, you stated you were not aware I would be having that conversation. That timeline does not match what you stated. What I was looking for was accountability. Instead, there was no visible action taken, and the situation was handled as if nothing had occurred. The student remained fully included in every dance without any acknowledgment of the impact her behavior had on another teammate. That is the issue. It gave the impression that the behavior carried no consequence and that respect and accountability were not being enforced. Regarding fundraising, we were aware of the expectations and agreed to them.. that was never the issue. What remains unclear is why we were required to pay competition-related fees during our first year while not being allowed to participate in competitions. This essentially meant contributing financially to a fundraiser that new company families are required to support, while not being included in any competition dances during the first year. As a result, it becomes an added expense for families without any direct participation or benefit for their child during that first year dance season. I know that Fancy Feet prides itself on affordability, however, paying even an “affordable” price for a service when some children are not allowed the opportunity to participate in their first year is still expensive in itself. I also want to address the comment about opportunities. I do appreciate that you covered the three-week intensive, and I acknowledged that. However, I paid for every private lesson my daughter had with Ms. Amanda for gymnastics none were free. She also took them with another student, so I’m not sure how “private” that is considered. I did not expect the intensive to be brought up this way. If that is how it is being presented, you can send me the invoice for those three weeks and I will pay it, because I am not interested in that being used as leverage or to offset the concerns I have raised.

We have been with fancy feet on Crosby ave for 3 years now we started with mommy and me and then moved to gymnastics classes and now we are doing summer classes September we will do gymnastics again. When I say I couldn’t be happier to have my daughter in this dance studio the Facility is always clean the staff is absolutely amazing everyone is welcoming and loving to the children there’s nothing more a mom could ask for. My daughter is comfortable with everyone. The owner Susan is the best literally she has a heart of actual gold we love her. We plan on being with them for a very long time. Definitely if you’re looking for a dance studio I say enroll here you definitely won’t be sorry it will be the best decision you make for your little one. So happy to be apart of the fancy feet family.
