Camp Discovery, the summer day camp of the Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois in Freeport, serving children in kindergarten through 8th grade over 10 weeks, 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Activities include outdoor exploration, swimming and team games through partnerships with the Freeport Park District and schools. Breakfast, lunch and snack, free before/after care and weekly field trips are included, and scholarships are available.

As a parent of adult children now I accessed their Ycamp before and after school daycare services. Kids are kept busy, clean and organized there.. When my son grew up he worked for the YMCA kids camp as a counselor for 3 years and coordinated kitchen duties with theculinary certificate earned from FHS. FHS has a wide array of options for kids- exploring their career. Many positive things to say about the Y.
