Elite Basketball Academy

The pictures suggest you'll be practicing in a gym, but you won't. The practice actually takes place on an outdoor basketball court. Also, the restrooms are locked, so hopefully your child can hold it. I just pulled my child out of this “academy” because all of their training is conducted for their competition team. If you are new to the sport or are going there to learn how to play, you will be disappointed. The coaches make the non-team learners do sit-ups, push-ups, etc., while they train their competition team. My child was set aside to do physical fitness while the rest of the coaches trained their team. Also, when the non-team players do get to play, be prepared for them to sit on the sidelines while their competition team and their own children (clearly not in this age group) get to play and are coached. When I questioned the coach, he stated, “Well, we are trying a different approach to spend more time with our basketball team.” Oh, okay, I wish I had known that my child was not going to get basketball training at this “basketball academy” before I paid to sign him up and paid the monthly fees. Bottom line: find another place to have your child trained. This is not a place for beginners; it is a place for their family and competition team. You have been given a fair assessment of my experience.

No program is ever perfect, but the improvement in structure, communication, and development is noticeable.
