My son has had an amazing experience with 305sports. Without them I do not think he would have made it to his middle school basketball team and excelled the way he has.

I am writing this review to warn other parents about my experience with Lazaro, the owner. I originally signed my son up for one season only. During that time, I noticed that many practices were canceled and no one ever informed me. When I addressed this with Lazaro, he even told me that although my son was 15 years old, some of the 5-year-olds paid more attention than him. After that conversation, I told him directly on the phone to cancel my son's participation, and he said “no problem.” However, despite canceling, Lazaro continued charging my son’s account for nine months at $185 per month. I only discovered the charges recently. My son’s account is a disability account connected to his Social Security benefits, and he is currently going through chemotherapy. Every dollar in that account is meant for his care and needs. When I confronted Lazaro about the charges, he told me that my son's situation “was not his problem.” He even tried to negotiate paying back only part of the money. This is not a matter of negotiation. This is money that was taken from a child’s disability account for services that were not provided and had already been canceled. I have filed a police report because you cannot continue charging a child’s Social Security disability account for nine months when the child was not attending and the membership had already been canceled. Any responsible owner would clearly know when a child has not attended for months. Continuing to charge the account shows a complete lack of ethics and responsibility. I will continue pursuing this matter until every dollar is returned. No parent should ever have to deal with something like this, especially while their child is fighting a serious illness. He is not just stealing someone’s money. He is taking my son that’s disabled and in need of every daughter for his treatments. How can we allow a monster like this work with our kids if I have to even come out and help me, Howard, but I will not stop until he pays back every dollar.

My twins were with this academy for a few seasons (over 2 years). The kids enjoyed playing and their coach Rex was excellent. We loved him. The downfall is that a lot of practices and games get cancelled due to weather. My rating is not 5 stars because of the last experience I had. The season was extended longer than usual due to a lot of cancellations due to weather. I was told the season would end before thanksgiving. Coach Laz forgot to order rings and medals for the championship and delayed the games an additional week which was not my fault. This was my kids last season as we wanted to take a break for the soccer season. (I sign them back up after soccer ends) I was disappointed that Coach Laz would only let them play in the final if we paid an additional month. The kids should not suffer for his delay. We asked if we could find a happy solution were everyone would win. We offered to pay the additional week. Unfortunately I had to pay a month’s worth for them to play two days of the month (playoff game and championship game). Coach Laz response was that this was an “academy not a weekly basis”. After multiple seasons (years) the least he could have done was to let the kids play without charging me an entire month as again the delay was on his part. I will not be returning and will not be recommending to this academy.

We are so proud to be a part of this league and so grateful for the coaches and all the effort they put in for our kids. From the character of the coaches that set an example to the players, to the way the leaders keep it organized and consistent, there is really no other league or team we would consider for our 10 year old daughter. In addition to that, the skills and experience the players learn from are top-notch. I fully expect opportunities for these players to be in full varsity and college ready teams. May God bless your business and the relationships of the coaches, players and parents.

My son joined a few basketball leagues before I found 305 and it was night and day. Laz and his coaches run a tight and professional ship. The coaches are patient and caring i truly recommend this league for any age child. My loyalty is to this league a they have changed my son in a positive way!
