This beautiful place... I've been a Bridgeport resident my whole life. My mother took me here when I was a kid. Memories, memories and memories. I recently saw RENT and Sweeney Todd in the past 3 years. Great performances!! I read an article today that they're closing permanently in june 2026. It literally broke my heart. I'm trying not to lose faith in this city but with developers having no respect or remorse for OUR HISTORY it's difficult. I'm gonna definitely catch a couple of shows before the last curtain call. 💔
My family and I went to see Santa Story 3 today and it was amazing! We ranged in age from 9 to 75 and everyone had a blast. My face was hurting when I left the theater from smiling and laughing so much. What clever writing and fantastic use of songs! It was so special to take a picture with the wonderful cast after the show. We have been coming to the cabaret for the past four years and the performers are just top-notch! Also, I just want to mention how accommodating the cabaret was with allowing us to exchange our tickets for this weekend’s performance when my daughter had the flu last weekend - I am truly grateful for the flexibility. The Downtown Cabaret is one special place!
This theater is a gem. A great place for family entertainment and a good way to introduce young children to the theater. It’s small, sometimes interactive and very relaxed. Cinderella was well performed and the kids loved it. We came here a few years ago for an adult production as well, Joseph and the Amazing Tecnicolor Dream Coat and while the sets are nothing like a major theater production the singing was amazing. We have attended shows here for decades and highly encourage anyone who wants to support local theater to get tickets. Sitting at tables and bringing your own food and drink is a great novelty and makes it an affordable experience.
My husband and I had an amazing time. The theathre was intimate and the local actors were amazing. The show was funny and unique. I would love to go again. It's one of a kind.
