Powered by GoogleThis Gym is hilarious, they’ve got all the equipments that I need. The vibe and surroundings are amazing. You’ll be more motivated most especially your surrounded by professionals. Lastly the employees are very accommodating especially the front desk Angela. Overall Dowd is my number Gym
I really enjoy coming to the YMCA and appreciate the large variety of machines available. They offer hundreds of cardio machines with built-in technology to stream YouTube, Netflix, browse websites, and even connect your Apple Watch — which is amazing in theory. However, the major issue is that about 99% of these machines are not connected to the internet. This has been an ongoing problem and not something new. It’s disappointing, especially considering how much members pay for their memberships. If the equipment worked as advertised, it would make workouts so much more enjoyable and motivating. I truly hope management addresses this issue ASAP. If you agree this needs to be fixed, please like this review so it gets the attention it deserves. 👍🏼
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easily one of the best activity complexes in downtown Charlotte. The space is clean, modern, and well organized, with a great mix of gym equipment, group classes, a swimming pool, basketball courts, and an indoor track.
Haven’t been here in a while , to my surprise they have renovated with great improvements. It was late, I was late getting here tonight & needed something to drink. I inquired where they relocated the drink machine. I encountered a young woman first, who didn’t know, but immediately a tall, black guy with braids chimed in stated it was down in the overflow area. Trying to understand I guess I presented a puzzled look. Before he continued in trying to explain, he rudely questioned my membership. I immediately shared I did possess such. “YOUUU, have to scan before entering. It’s right underneath here on the first floor”! It clicked once he stated the 1st floor. Wasn’t familiar with the term “Overflow area” & it wasn’t “right underneath”, but I was able to locate further down. I didn’t appreciate the interaction, especially when he thought it was necessary to question or his delivery of the membership needed information! Later, over hearing additional conversations throughout the night, not pertaining to me, from the same person it presented much unnecessary attitude. No matter my interactions with staff members here, good or bad, this will always be my favorite Y. I’m aware that everyone has bad days, & perhaps this was one of his, but please ask him TO DO BETTER!!!
This YMCA is super local, and I even have a family pass where they charge 150$+ for a month, I expected to enjoy the sauna, pool and the steam room, but even with the charges every month they have closed all of those a week now. Me and the other frequent ladies have decided to revoke our membership! Not only is the steam room walls not taken care of therefore steaming dirt and dead skin but it seems that they have taken off the water hose access for guests in the steam room?? What an odd thing to do, as well as the pool being empty for too long! This is not the first time me and the regulars have talked about this and we feel that our amenities for the females is being neglected. Of course the gyms are clean but we as regulars notice these things! The staff are wonderful and it’s clean in the locker rooms but the sauna smells and the steam room is not viably not clean, I am VERY dissapointed and until then me and the regulars have decided to revoke and use our voice!! not right on the YMCAs part as this is our community where we gather! I come here to relax from hard days at work and even in my safe space of the steam room I cannot be comfortable. These amenities should be cleaned as well! The walls are dirty! I wouldn’t even mind volunteering with some of the ladies to clean the steam room! Please do better🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
