Dewey Mountain Recreation Center is a municipal outdoor recreation area less than a mile from the village of Saranac Lake in the Adirondacks: a cross-country ski and snowshoe area in winter and a multi-use mountain biking and hiking trail network in spring, summer and autumn, with trail passes, rentals, instruction and a rentable lodge. Its summer youth offering is a pair of mountain bike leagues rather than a camp - a girls' league for ages 8 to 14 on Tuesday evenings and a boys' league for ages 9 to 14 on Friday evenings, each one hour long from early July to mid-August and costing $25 for six sessions, starting at Dewey Mountain and riding the area's trails.

Not just a ski center, but also for public use through prior booking... Wedding's birthday party's funerals and such. Classy area bathrooms and kitchen available

The team at Dewey Mountain Recreation Center does a stellar job. The trails are well-maintained, and improving every year. The grooming is top notch. The facility is always clean. The programs are well-loved in the community. I highly recommend this recreation center to everyone in the Saranac Lake region!

For low key groomed cross country ski trails this place is perfect. Its not as visually dramatic or as long as the ski trails at the VIC but it’s just right for a shorter cc ski run. I am still a novice at cc skiing but have really started to enjoy it, and skiing at Dewey has helped because they have way groomed trails and more challenging ones. Everything is marked really clearly and they have lights over the trails for skiing at night. Pretty awesome local place and very friendly. They also have a small building with very clean bathrooms. Its worth the small fee to use their trails - and their season pass is worth it if you are going to come a few visits.

Nice little bit of fresh snow on the trails to cover up the icy base. Beautiful corduroy, trails were nicely groomed and got regroomed during the day. Staff was really friendly and very helpful.

I came here to go cross country skiing for the first time. The trails were well maintained and there was a good variety of beginner, intermediate and advanced trails. There were very few people when we first got there in mid afternoon...though I should mention it was 14 degrees with intense squalls here and there. Some of the trails are lit up which would be fun for night time skiing.
