Coach Denison and Coach Kate set a high standard and do it the right way, which is reflected in the culture of the program. They don't coddle the kids, they hold the kids accountable for their effort and performance while refusing to cave to unrealistic parents that demand equal playing time regardless of performance. My son's love for Futsal has reached new heights and we owe it to the exceptional teaching, coaching, mentoring and atmosphere that exists at DCFA. Amazing training, great facilities and an extensive knowledge of the game of Futsal made it a great experience. Highly recommend the program and would give it 10 stars if I could.
★Magdalena StanulescuWhen we were told about this program, we had to think it over for a couple of days because it was very expensive. As my son was excited about joining it, we signed him up. After only a couple of practices, his enthusiasm started to fade away. This program focuses on pointing out errors and blaming players when they make mistakes rather emphasizing the positive. The lead coach was often described as “mean.” Playing time during games was also an issue. We would travel for 30 to 1 hour, and have some players play for 3 minutes during one half since some of them would be immediately removed from the game if they made a mistake. When we voiced our concerns to the lead coach, we were faced with arrogance and self-entitlement: “I know what I’m doing,” “I don’t care about the playing time,” “this program has been around for over 20 years.” Believe me, the program has been around for lack of other options, not the quality of the program. This coaching style may work for some players and be favored by some parents, but it is counterproductive at least for our son. We wish this coaching style would be communicated with families at the try-outs so we know what we sign up for. Since such communication didn’t take place, I thought I would voice my experience here so other parents are aware.
