My grandson has gone here for one week and he said "It was okay" because on his first day he had to spend most of the day doing nothing inside while the rest of his friends got to go do fun stuff. He also was sent home all because of something he didn't even do. I hope the kid who blamed my grandson for something he didn't even do. We even canceled his 2nd week because he didn't want to go back.

My kids have gone here for a week of day camp for 2 summers now. I finally got to visit! It’s “out in a cornfield”. They have a nice splash pad & pool area, a staff office building, an amphitheater (that was cool, the only thing I took pics of) & a few other areas my kids didn’t take me to - lakeshore, camp cookout area. Seems like the land is part of a parks district.

We stayed at Bertram Chain of Lakes campgrounds in Monticello. New campground and had a great time. Don't know anything about the day camp but the campground was great!

I'm not sure how this camp has anything but 5 stars! YMCA Manitou is run like a well oiled machine. This Day Camp provides a bus ride from local schools to the camp in the morning and evening. Each program is 5 days (Mon-Fri) and you have the option to sign your child up for specialty camps with emphasis on their favorite camp activity. The grounds are clean and very well maintained. They offer a swimming pool, archery center, office building, challenge course, lake side activities and an outdoor amphitheater. Each day, campers follow a well organised schedule that you (the parent) receive on Monday night. YMCA has a very strong team building ethic. Campers are encouraged to participate in all of their activities and wear assigned colors each day. The staff! The counselors and helpers are outstanding! They are what make YMCA Manitou so incredible. Everyone is young and full of energy. They are patient with the kids and have excellent leadership skills. If your child hasn't been to day camp, it's time to consider YMCA. My kids love to go every year!
