Daniel Island Recreation Center
Private
The Daniel Island Recreation Center at 160 Fairbanks Drive is the City of Charleston's only indoor recreation facility, a 22,000-square-foot air-conditioned building with basketball and volleyball courts, cardio and weight training space, and multipurpose rooms. The city's Recreation Department runs specialty summer camps here, operating 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during camp weeks, alongside youth sports leagues, fitness classes and community programs. The center opened in July 2021.

We had such a fun time at the Friday morning play time with our 14 month old grandson. Blocks, bouncy house, toy trucks, balls - lots of clean, age-appropriate toys. All the children and their caregivers had a blast!
As with most anything set up for public recreation in the Charleston area, the indoors are set up sparsely and managed poorly. The outdoors are fantastic and beautiful. The inside sub par inside is very little room in the basketball area and little else usable in free time. Therefore whenever they set up events it's mostly in the basketball area, taking up that space which is badly needed in Charleston.
One of the most beautiful & newest recreation facility in Charleston area! Lots of programs for kids & adults. My son enjoys their sports program year round including camps. Very affordable fees and convenient to go to. Plenty of parking!
First time here to take a pickleball lesson/clinic with Trey! Amazing! You can't beat the price and the lesson was truly amazing. So happy I came. Made friends and will definitely be back!
