Week-long summer dance camps run by Dancewave, a Brooklyn nonprofit dance-education organization at 182 4th Avenue near Gowanus. Camps teach movement-technique foundations alongside creative expression, and are grouped by age: Creative Movement Camp for ages 3-6, Integrative Arts Camp for ages 7-10, a ChoreoLab Dance Intensive for ages 11-13, and ArtsPath for ages 15-18 held at New York City Center. Teaching artists are trained in community building, restorative practices and social-emotional learning, and Dancewave uses a tiered, choose-your-rate tuition model with additional scholarships for families who need them.
