Dance Center Evanston runs several summer camp programs at its Dempster Street studio, all Monday-Friday from 9am to 3pm. Summer Company Junior serves ages 6-9 with week-long themed camps that build an original dance production using music, storytelling and crafts, include time outdoors at a local park, and end in a performance for family. The three-week DCE Summer Company for ages 10-18 develops a world-premiere dance theater work with technique classes, casting auditions and two costumed performances in the Studio5 Theater, and an eight-day Ballet/Jazz Intensive for ages 12-22 runs 9am-4pm. Financial aid is available and early-bird pricing applies before April 1.

Lovely place for dance.

My daughter loves dancing at DCE. I’m so impressed with their talented staff and the sense of community, but most of all the joy of dance is so contagious that you see it on each students face when they perform. I was also very impressed with how they handled teaching and implementing protocols during Covid, which I’m sure was very challenging.

I would give negative stars if I could. My daughter still talks about how her ballet “teacher” screamed at her when she was 4 years old. The woman traumatized my child. Parents don’t bring your kids here. Go to Foster Dance Studio. They are kind and fun. Really nice people. Thanks DCE for helping us find a better school.

Very good and comfy place for kids to learn dance. After two years, so far so good. Teachers seem to know their stuff. Staff is friendly and helpful. Update: doing in person lessons now with all safety procedures in place. Thank You DCE!!

Great dance school for all ages. My daughter started here at 3yrs old & now at 5yrs old she still loves going here every Saturday morning for her ballet class. Miss Ally has taught my princess how to overcome her fears & now instead of having stage fright, she's excited to perform at recitals. Look foward to many years to come........
