Croton Sailing School runs the EAST Sailing Academy, a youth sailing camp on the Hudson River at Croton-on-Hudson for ages 9-16. Students progress through levels learning to handle 8- to 15-foot sailboats on their own, taught from a fleet of more than twenty vessels ranging 13 to 24 feet, with groups formed by age and sailing experience and a maximum of six students per instructor. The program adds day trips, sailing games, water fights and fun awards; the school's season runs from late spring through fall.

CSS is where he learned not only to sail, but where he developed a love and appreciation for it. My youngest turned 14 this spring. This summer he took private sailing lessons (full days) for two days, and can’t wait to do another. It’s a beautiful spot replete with sail boats that also boasts a walking/biking trail, and a park. I think joining the boat club is the next step.
