I enrolled my son in the intensive 4-day swimming course for autistic children with high hopes and appreciation for the initiative. I truly value spaces that support neurodivergent kids. However, the facility’s policies and accommodations for parents, particularly mothers accompanying young sons, were deeply disappointing. After class, we were not allowed to use the showers or lockers, which meant carrying our bags around and leaving without being able to properly change or clean up. What was MOST upsetting, however, was that today, the last day of the course, I was asked to leave the only available space we had to change: right where my son had just taken his class, (inside improvised spaces they made.) While I was rushing to get him dressed, a staff member approached us and told us we had to leave immediately because it was a “MEN-ONLY” swimming time and that "THEY COULD GET MAD". Being asked to leave under those circumstances, despite clearly assisting a young autistic child, while I was already rushing, felt unnecessarily rigid, lacking in sensitivity, and frankly discriminatory. Caregivers supporting children with special needs should not be placed in uncomfortable or exclusionary situations. Families deserve inclusive, thoughtful accommodations, so I I respectfully urge the administration to review its facilities, policies, and staff training to ensure a more inclusive and supportive environment for families.

Signed up my toddler for some classes, and the teachers were great. Like many said, this place has so much potential. I arrived 10 minutes late to class which takes place on the third floor requiring an escort to the elevator. The security guard was so annoyed that I was late (first time occurrence due to piles of snow), and complained about having to escort me to the 3rd floor. He was annoyed about having to do his job… Also need to mention that the front desk lady is really rude, and seems miserable about working there. Never signing up for classes at this establishment again.

The community house provides important services, teachers are amazing, Classes are Fantastic. However, my experience with the front desk staff has been disappointing. The lady at the desk often gives us uncomfortable and unwelcoming looks, (I don't know if it is just me) It makes it difficult to feel at ease when entering the building. Her behavior feels unfriendly and dismissive. A community space should make everyone feel respected and included, and unfortunately, that has not been my experience.

Front desk woman is the antithesis of a customer service-oriented woman. I ask if I can do a day pass and she looks at me like I am taking up her time and says "no." I ask her if I can try out the Y (which I have done at other Ys and she says "no" and then "it depends on the day of the week" and then "it depends on the time of day/session" - and it was open swim. Finally she agrees to go back and ask if I can try it out. She comes back and says I can do a guest pass for $20. I fill everything out and then she said that she'll only take cash which I don't have so I have to leave without a swim workout and having met a very unpleasant human.
