I am honestly disappointed with my experience at the YMCA in Myrtle Beach. The customer service is among the worst I have experienced. It is extremely difficult to get a response from anyone. Even when you are told that a manager will call you back, it can take weeks, and often only happens after multiple follow-up calls. I was also charged an additional fee without my agreement. 35$(And if you dispute it, they do not have the right to refuse to refund it.) When I asked about it, I was told it was for business improvements. I do not understand why members should be charged extra without clear communication or consent to help fund improvements. The cleanliness of the facility is another concern. The bathrooms are frequently dirty and do not appear to be maintained to an acceptable standard. The sauna is very outdated and appears to have received little investment or modernization over the years. Finally, I strongly recommend that members carefully monitor their bank and credit card statements. After updating my payment information with a new credit card, I was still being charged on my old card as well. For several months, charges appeared on both cards, and in some cases payments seemed to be processed twice. This created unnecessary confusion and frustration that took considerable time to address.

Fantastic gym and employees. David and Susan at the front desk were very personable; and went above and beyond for me being a traveling nationwide Y member!

Drove 30 min to go get a quick workout in at the “family” YMCA, use our membership cards to check in, then get refused entry and claim we have to pay $15 for day pass when we are already members at the YMCA. Truly disappointing and aggravating.

We absolutely love the YMCA Claire Chapin Epps location! Our family has been involved with the Y for years, and our children have played both basketball and baseball here. Every season has been such a positive experience. The staff and coaches are supportive, encouraging, and truly focused on creating a fun, welcoming environment for the kids. It’s more than just sports—it’s about teamwork, confidence, and community. We’re so grateful for all the great memories and highly recommend to any family looking for a positive and enjoyable experience for their children.

Called to get my daughter signed up for Soccer and immediately got connected with Jeremiah Duncan (Sports Director) who was so helpful and kind! Then I got connected to Colleen who was so sweet and they just made the whole process quick and easy!
