CinemaKidz runs week-long filmmaking and media-arts day camps for ages 5-15 in Brooklyn, where campers work in small production teams to write scripts, shoot scenes, edit, design costumes and props, and produce original animated shorts. More than a dozen weekly themes are offered, including stop-motion animation, music production, cooking shows, skateboard filmmaking, and Dungeons & Dragons filmmaking, and each day mixes studio work with outdoor games. The camp keeps a 1:5 teacher-to-camper ratio with sections capped at 10 students and two staff per pod. Daily hours are not stated.

Company continued to promise service in extracurricular activity but failed to do so. Partial refund was given. I've reached out several times to receive our child's projects; they do not respond. I will visit in person.

My 8-year-old loved his two weeks at CinemaKidz summer camp. He asked for a film-making camp and we could not find one for his age group close to home in NJ so we made the trip into the city for CinemaKidz at the Union Square location. My child had a fantastic time learning the technical and creative aspects of turning his ideas into movies, as well as how to collaborate with others in doing so. The one-week increments were great for fitting this camp in with the rest of his summer schedule, and there was a nice balance between "work" and play. The Film Fest at the end of the week really highlighted each kid's contributions and talents. I was impressed with how well the counselors knew my child after one week with him, and I enjoyed seeing all of the completed projects. The films were all funny and entertaining, and it was clear the kids had the reins in coming up with the ideas, doing the filming, and editing the final product. After day two at CinemaKidz, my child was already telling me that he wanted to attend the camp again next year!

My child had an amazing experience with CinemaKidz. Campers were not only able to work on their projects but also spent lots of time outdoors, which my kid loved. I was impressed by the final projects that the campers presented as well as the level of teamwork that went into them, not to mention the level of attention and encouragement that she received from the staff.

My daughter had an absolutely amazing experience with CinemaKidz. From day one, she came home excited to share everything she was learned in class and show us the movies that she worked on. The instructors were incredibly supportive and treated the kids like real filmmakers, which made her feel empowered and creative. The program brought her out of her shell and helped her explore her creative voice. Watching her final film at the end of the program was such a proud moment for our family!

Celebrated my 9 year old daughter birthday with 10 of her girl friends. They had a blast, the 2 workers were engaging and made her birthday awesome with a custom music video the girls helped produce and film. What a great idea and done in 2 hrs. We used there Brooklyn Navy Yard location at 141 Flushing Ave. Thank you CinemaKidz!
