Chesapeake Academy is an independent PreK-3 through eighth-grade day school at 107 Steamboat Road in Irvington that opens two summer camps to families outside the school. The Summer Nest serves ages 4 through rising 3rd grade with a consistent daily schedule of games, books, outdoor play, rest and quiet time, and weekly trips to local sites. Rappahannock Field School, for rising 4th through 8th graders, explores the Rappahannock River watershed through recreational activities and scientific investigation. Registration for non-Chesapeake Academy families opens in mid-February, with a $100 non-refundable deposit per camp week.
