The Cherryville Family YMCA, part of the Gaston County Family YMCA, runs Camp Whajado, a full-day summer day camp (7am-6pm) for kids that in 2026 runs from late May through early August. Campers take weekly trips to the pool, library, splash pads and parks, and fees cover supervised activities, supplies and field trips. Sites serve as free summer-meal locations and financial assistance is available.
